Applications for Window and Door manufacturers: PLV has identified a strong application for this product for window and door manufacturers. According to industry sources a typical window and door manufacturer will lose 3-5% of production to out-of-spec materials. A proven way to reduce this loss is to implement Incoming Materials Inspection. However to perform this function you must be able to measure materials repeatably and reliably. The largest contributor to downtime is out-of-spec profile. Other problems might be out-spec- hardware, reinforcement bars, or incorrect coatings on your products. Be pro-active and reduce your downtime. In the case of profiles you can help yourself by implementing a procedure to measure profiles as they come through your shipping door. First you need a method to measure the profiles in a way that tells you what is wrong. A caliper is not repeatable in measuring characteristics of profiles. The FS-200WDCI can measure your profiles the day it arrives: Using the FS200 is simple. We send you the system ready to go to work on your profiles. All you need to do is cut a sample and place it on the scanner. This means you now know what is in your inventory and what actions you need to take to keep production rolling. If you know you have a bad profile you can call your supplier immediately for replacement or make the necessary changes to fixtures and jigs to accommodate the variances before you start production.
The FS-200WDCI can include other incoming Inspection tests: With the addition of other devices (sold separately) the FS-200WDCI can measure color, gloss, and take hardware measurements. To do these additional operations you may purchase serial compatible devices and attach them to the reporting structure of the software.
